Wojnasy [vɔi̯ˈnasɨ] (German: Woynassen, 1938-1945 Woinassen) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Wieliczki, within Olecko County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 7 kilometres (4 mi) north-east of Wieliczki, 12 km (7 mi) east of Olecko, and 145 km (90 mi) east of the regional capital Olsztyn.
Before 1945 the area was part of Germany (East Prussia). After World War II the region was placed under Polish administration and ethnically cleansed according to the post-war Potsdam Agreement. The native German populace was expelled and replaced with Poles.
