Yelizaveta Osetinskaya
Yelizaveta Nikolayevna Osetinskaya (Russian: Елизавета Николаевна Осетинская, born 3 May 1977, Moscow) is a Russian journalist and media manager. She is notable as a former editor-in-chief of the Russian edition of the Forbes in 2011-2013 and of the RBC Information Systems in 2014-2016.[1] She is credited with development of investigative journalism during her tenure at RBC, including participation of Russian troops in the War in Donbass and the business connections of the family of president Vladimir Putin.[2]
Osetinskaya was born in Moscow in 1977 and graduated from the Faculty of Economics of Moscow State University in 1998. She started reporting for RBC in 1995, while still at the university. Between November 1999 and April 2011, she worked for Vedomosti, where, in particular, between March 2007 and February 2010 she was the editor-in-chief, and subsequently the editor-in-chief of the website of the newspaper. In Mat 2011, Osetinskaya was appointed editor-in-chief of the Russian edition of Forbes, and in January 2015 she started as the editor-in-chief of RBC products, which included rbc.ru, RBC TV, RBC daily newspaper, and RBC magazine.[3]
On 13 May 2016, together with two more editors of the RBC Information Systems, was fired with immediate effect. She believes this was a consequence of the publication about the Panama Papers and their connections to Vladimir Putin.[4]
