Young 1ove is a non-governmental organization in Botswana working to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS among youth. It provides information to students on HIV risk disaggregated by age and gender, with emphasis on the increased risk of infection from cross-generational sex.
A randomized control trial for this type of class in Kenya showed a 28 percent reduction in adolescent pregnancy rates, which is a proxy for unprotected sex and HIV transmission.[1]
Young 1ove's program will be accompanied by an evaluation in conjunction with J-PAL Africa.[2]
