Zack Lee (born 15 August 1984) is an Indonesian actor, model and boxer of British descent.
Career
Zack Lee Jowono began his career as a model before appearing in soaps operas in the mid 2000s.[1] Due to his difficult past, he has often been asked to play "bad boy" roles. His most memorable role in the 2005 action movie Bad Wolves, as the leader of a bloodthirsty gang, won him favorable reviews.[2][3]
Personal life
Lee was born in Liverpool to a mother half Indonesian and British and an Indonesian father of Javanese and Chinese descent. He is the second in a family of five children, and brought up as a Buddhist.[4] After the divorce of his parents when he was three, Zack went to live with his father in Jakarta. Because of his chaotic childhood, Lee was subjected to gang culture and was therefore repeatedly condemned to sentences in youth detention center and jail.[5]
In prison, aged 18, he converted to Christianity.[6] Lee married dangdut singer Nafa Urbach on 16 February 2007,[7] and after having lived together for more than four years, she too converted to Christianity from Islam.[8] The same year the couple went to Jerusalem in Israel to perform their religious pilgrimages, as a honeymoon.[9] The couple have one daughter.[10]
