Cambridge International School is a non-selective for-profit private school that follows the British curriculum and is located on the grounds of Al Garhoud, Dubai. The British curriculum consists of the IGCSE, the Advanced Subsidiary (AS) and A Level Examinations of the Universities of Cambridge and London (UK), consistently producing results well above the UK national average. The school is an approved centre for the University of Examinations Syndicate and for London University. The Cambridge International School welcomes any smart student and would surely lead you to success with its teacher. Set in a spacious campus, the school is divided into two Sections: the Primary (Kindergarten to Year 6) and the Secondary School (Year 7 to Year 13). Outstanding teaching, the variety of opportunities and good facilities make the school one of the best in the city. The school equips its students with all the necessary skills required to explore the opportunities of the present and face the challenges of the future with confidence.

The school has a segregated system which separates boys and girls from grade five to grade eight. From kindergarten to grade four, boys and girls are taught in a mix classroom. Grade nine and onward, all IGCSE and A level classes are co-educationally.

Sports

Every year, the school holds a sports day, separately for the primary students and secondary students. There are four teams throughout the school which are called Falcons (Blue), Eagles (Yellow), Hawks (Red) and Kestrels (Green). Students in each team compete in different sport events which consist of: long jump, high jump, obstacle race, tug of war, shot put and many more events. Students are awarded individually and in the end, the team with the most points is considered the winning team. Other sporting clubs that take place over the year include; swimming, netball, cricket, badminton, football, rounders and gymnastics to name a few. [1]

Uniform

The school has a compulsory uniform. Girls can choose between long skirts, short skirts or pants. Young boys can choose between long pants or short pants while older boys only have a choice of long pants. The pants and skirts are brown for students in grades between kindergarten and eleven while grade twelves have a black pant or skirt and grade thirteens have gray pant or skirt. Shirts are the same for all, which consist of long or short sleeves cream shirt which have to be tucked in. Students also have to wear a maroon tie. Other compulsory uniform are black shoes and white socks with tidy hair (tied back for girls). Also no make-up or jewellery is permitted other than a watch or small studs for girls. The school logo is embedded on the pocket of the shirt. [2]

GEMS Core Values

GEMS Education (Global Education Management System) is an education company. It has a set of core values that are implemented in all their schools. They are: Leading Through Innovation, Pursuing Excellence, Growing by Learning and Global Citizenship. While these are the basic rules by which students are taught to embrace, they are also encouraged to take on responsibility and learn independently. [3]

Philanthropy

One of the four value is global citizenship, this recognizes the act of giving. Students are taught to give specially to those in worse conditions than themselves. Small events are held such as "mufti day" which is non-uniform day if students donate to charity. This has allowed the school to raise thousands of dollars of money for charities all over the world.
