Çaldıran (Kurdish: Ebex) is a district and town in Van Province of Turkey. The mayor is Faruk Demir (BDP).
The battle of Bagiri Pass occurred here, in which Armenians fleeing from Van during the Armenian Genocide were intercepted by Kurdish Tribals, who killed many.
The town is in an earthquake prone area; 3,840 people were killed by a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in 1976.[3]
