The 1922 West Virginia Mountaineers football team represented the West Virginia Mountaineers during the 1922 college football season, and completed the regular season with a 9–0–1 record.[1] They earned the school's first bowl bid, journeying to the East-West Bowl where they defeated the Gonzaga Bulldogs 21–13. This gave the Mountaineers their first 10 win season.
