The 2016–17 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup events and season-long competition will take place between 21 September 2016 and 22 January 2017, organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). This season the number of events has again increased to nine, with the introduction of Fiuggi, Iowa and Zeven. As the Duinencross Koksijde got cancelled, the season eventually had only eight events.
Defending champions are Wout Van Aert in the men's competition and Sanne Cant in the women's competition.
Points distribution
Points are awarded to all eligible riders each race. The top ten finishers receive points according to the following table:

Riders finishing in positions 11 to 50 also receive points, going down from 40 points for place 11 by one point per place to 1 point for 50th place.
Events
In comparison to last season's seven races, this season was scheduled to have nine. Lignières-en-Berry was taken out of the programme – while Fiuggi, Iowa and Zeven were added . However following heavy winds in Koksijde, the Duinencross Koksijde was cancelled and only eight races were held.
