Aishō (愛荘町 Aishō-chō) is a town located in Echi District in eastern Shiga Prefecture, Japan.
The town was founded on February 13, 2006 when the towns of Echigawa and Hatashō merged. The name "Aishō" combines the first character in "Echigawa" (愛知川) and the second character in "Hatashō" (秦荘).
As of February 2007 the town has an estimated population of 19,829. The total area is 37.98 km².
Neighboring communities
The town borders the cities of Hikone and Higashiōmi and the towns of Kōra, Taga and Toyosato in Inukami District.
