This is a summary of the electoral history of David Shearer, Leader of the Labour Party (2011-13) and Member of Parliament for Mount Albert (2009-present).
Parliamentary elections
1999 election
Shearer stood for Labour as a list-only candidate at the 1999 election. He was ranked 62nd on the party list and was not elected.[1]
2002 election
In 2002, Shearer finished second in the Whangarei electorate to Phil Heatley. His position of 45th on the party list did not result in his election.[2]
