The European School, Bergen (in Dutch: Europese School Bergen, in French: École Européenne de Bergen, in German: Europäische Schule Bergen) (or ESB) is one of the 14 Type 1 European Schools. It is located in the town of Bergen in the Dutch province of North Holland. It was established for the children of the staff of EU institutions though additional students will be accepted if there is space.[1]
As of November 2015, the school enrols students in English, French and Dutch.[2]
As of 1995 at least 5/6th of the total number of students were not children of EU workers.[3]
The school recently celebrated its 50th anniversary on Wednesday 16 October 2013.[4]
