Furness Vale railway station in Derbyshire, England, is 15 14 miles (24.5 km) south east of Manchester Piccadilly on the Manchester to Buxton line. It has a level crossing at the end of the platform controlled by a signal box.

The station is on the Stockport, Disley and Whaley Bridge line, originally built by the London and North Western Railway to connect with the Cromford and High Peak Railway and extended to Buxton in 1863.

Service

There is generally an hourly service each day to Manchester Piccadilly (with a few peak hour trains continuing beyond Manchester to destinations including Blackpool North, Clitheroe, Barrow-in-Furness, Wigan North Western and Kirkby). Southbound there is an hourly service to Buxton. From December 2012 one weekday service in each direction no longer calls at Furness Vale, the 07:49 Buxton–Manchester Piccadilly and the 16:23 Manchester Piccadilly-Buxton.[1]
