Jeroen Zoet (Dutch pronunciation: [jə.ˈrun ˈzut]) (born 6 January 1991) is a Dutch professional footballer who currently plays for PSV in the Dutch Eredivisie. In November 2012, he was called up for the first time for the Netherlands national squad, but he did not make his first appearance until October 2015, when he was subbed on for an injured Tim Krul. He previously played two seasons on loan for RKC Waalwijk.

Club career

Zoet during the Europa League game against FC Zenit on 26 February 2015.

Zoet played at his home town club BV Veendam's youth academy until 2006. He started his career at PSV at the age of 15, slowly making his way through up the ranks and into the senior squad and earning his first call up to the senior side in the 08-09 season making the bench in the game against AZ. He then went on to have a few loan spells at RKC, making his league debut against Heracles in the 2-2 draw on 6 August 2011.

Zoet returned to parent club PSV at the start of the 13-14 season where he has, since, been first choice under manager Phillip Cocu. He has been highly regarded as one of the best Goalkeepers in the Eredivisie attracting the interest of Premier League clubs such as Arsenal and Newcastle. In the 14-15 season won PSV the title, with Zoet as first goalkeeper. It was the first big trophy for the goalie. In November 2015 Zoet extended his contract until 2019. He also won the Johan Cruijf shield in 2015-2016. In the season 2015-2016 Zoet played together with PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League. They reached the quarter finals where they had to play against Atletico Madrid. Zoet played good games against them and two times reached the team of the week. PSV lost with penalties from Atletico Madrid. He won his third big price this season with another title for PSV.

International career

Zoet received his first call up to the senior Netherlands team in September 2012.[1] Zoet made his international debut as a late substitute for Tim Krul against Kazakhstan on 10 October 2015.[2]
