A/S Latvijas Gāze is a Latvian natural gas company, which deals in the importation, transmission, storage and sale of natural gas. It holds a monopoly on the natural gas market in Latvia. Latvijas Gāze is owned by Gazprom (34%), Marguerite Fund (28.97%), Uniper Ruhrgas International (18.26%) and Itera-Latvija (16%).[4] The country's gas transmission network is scheduled to be unbundled from the company by the end of 2017.[5] In January 2016 the Marguerite Fund acquired a 28.97% stake from E.ON leaving the latter, whose fossil fuel assets have been spun off as Uniper with 18.26%.[6][7]
