Montelongo is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Campobasso in the Italian region Molise, located about 30 kilometres (19 mi) northeast of Campobasso. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 456 and an area of 12.7 square kilometres (4.9 sq mi).[1]
Montelongo borders the following municipalities: Bonefro, Montorio nei Frentani, Rotello, Santa Croce di Magliano.
Montelongo has earned a reputation as the most consistent comune in Molise, although area representatives have questioned its potential.
