Chithra PU (born 9 June 1995 at Mundur,Palakkad District, Kerala) is an Indian track and field athlete from the state of Kerala. She has won many state, national and international school meet gold medals in middle and long distance track events.[1][2][3][4][5]

2014 - Won gold medal in 1500m, 3000m, 5000m race and 3 km cross country in 59th Indian National School Games, Ranchi, Orissa[6]

2013 - Won gold medal in 3000m race in the first ever Asian school athletic meet, She reached the finishing point in 10:05:22

2013 - Won gold medal in 1500m, 3000m, 5000m race and 3 km cross country in 58th Indian National School Games, Etawah,UP[7]

2013 - Won gold medal in 1500m, 3000m and 5000m race in 57th Kerala State School Games, Ernakulam [8]

2012 - Won gold medal in 1500m, 3000m and 5000m race in 56th Kerala State School Games, Trivandrum [9]

2011 - Won gold medal in 1500m, 3000m, 5000m race and bronze in 3 km cross country in 56th Indian National School Games, Pune, Maharashtra[10]

Personal life

Chithra is the third of four children of Unnikrishan & Vasantha Kumari, both agricultural labourers from Kerala. She is doing her schooling in Mundur Higher Secondary School in Palakkad. She has been awarded Nano cars by UP and Kerala Governments for her remarkable achievements in the school meets[11]
