Servando Sánchez Barahona (born 2 June 1984), known simply as Servando, is a Spanish footballer who plays for Cádiz CF as a central defender.
Club career
Born in San Fernando, Cádiz, Andalusia, Servando made his senior debuts with local CD San Fernando, then moved to Atlético Aviación in the 2004 summer. One year later he first arrived in Segunda División B, signing for CD Díter Zafra; in July 2009 he joined CD San Roque de Lepe, after spells with Real Oviedo and Jerez Industrial CF, the latter in Tercera División.
On 9 August 2010 Servando signed with CD Roquetas, also in the third level.[1] In July 2011 he signed with Real Jaén,[2] scoring four goals in 35 games in his second season and adding one in six contests in the successful promotion playoffs.
On 18 August 2013, aged 29, Servando played his first professional match, starting in a 1–2 home loss against SD Eibar.[3] He appeared in 34 matches during the campaign, as his side was relegated back to the third level.
On 16 July 2014, Servando rescinded his contract with Jaén and joined Cádiz CF, also in the third division.[4] With the club he also achieved promotion to the second tier in 2016, again as a starter.
Personal life
Servando's brother, Germán, is also a footballer and a defender.[5]
