Shangri-La Resort & Spa refers to two separated resorts located in the city metropolitan of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. Beside operating as a resort, it is an area where various renewable energy and nature conservation efforts meeting being held.[1][2]
Divisions
- Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa – The resort is located in Tanjung Aru Beach of Tanjung Aru with a clear sea background of Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park.[3]
- Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort & Spa – The resort is located in Dalit Beach of Tuaran surrounded by 400 acres of tropical rainforest.[4] The Rasa Ria resort has a nature reserve area known as Shangri-La Rasa Ria Nature Reserve where they foster young orangutans from infancy until they are old enough to be transferred to the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre.[2]
In early 2016, the resort in Tanjung Aru received the "Guest Favourite Hotel Award" while the Rasa Ria resort received the award of "Best Hotel Service in Malaysia".[5][6]
