Sosnovsky District (Russian: Сосновский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[3] district (raion), one of the forty-three in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,170.6 square kilometers (452.0 sq mi).[1] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Sosnovskoye.[1] Population: 19,546 (2010 Census);[4] 21,923(2002 Census);[7] 25,513(1989 Census).[8] The population of Sosnovskoye accounts for 44.7% of the district's total population.[4]

The district was established in 1935.[1]
