Lumen Prize
The Lumen Prize is an international award and tour for digitally created art. Its goal is to focus the world’s attention on this genre of fine art through an annual juried competition and global tour.[1]
Overview
Founded by Carla Rapoport in 2012,[2] the Lumen Prize has, as of Spring 2016, staged 27 exhibitions in 10 cities around the world including Amsterdam, Athens, Hong Kong, New York, Riga, and Shanghai. In collaboration with partners such as the Computer Arts Society,[3] Lumen advances the understanding of digital art through seminars, artist talks, workshops and symposiums, and to date Lumen has staged 13 seminars across the world.
Lumen's team aims to provide a range of opportunities to past and present winners and shortlisted artists.[1] These have included but are not limited to: sales, commissions, solo shows as well as opportunities to appear at seminars and retrospectives.[4]
Lumen has collaborated with the Computer Arts Society[3] and from 2016 the EVA London Conferences.[5]
