The 1948 United States presidential election in Georgia took place throughout the contiguous 48 states. Voters chose 12 representatives, or electors, to the Electoral College, who voted for President and Vice President.
On Election Day, President Harry Truman won Georgia in a landslide. He carried the state by 40.5% over his nearest competitor, Strom Thurmond of the Dixiecrat party.
