Vishnudham Mandir (Hindi: विष्णु धाम मंदिर ) is a temple on the border of the village Bherwania & Sadiha and Bhervania, where a statue of Lord Vishnu was found by a carpenter underneath a tree in 1998. The temple was constructed by local villagers and authorities, at the site of the statue. It is the largest idol of Lord Vishnu in north India made up of black granite and measuring 7.5 feet long and 3.5 feet in width.The idol belongs to the Gupta period.The idol has four arms carrying a "sankh(conch)", a "chakra(discus)" , a "gada (club)" , and a "padma(lotus)".There are two figures- one masculine and another feminine-below the left and right arms of the idol.An idol of goddess Laxmi was also recovered from the spot but it was stolen.

HOW TO REACH

Bherwania village is located 9 kilometers from Maharajganj subdivision and 35 kilometer from Siwan. Bherwania can be reached by taking either bus or taxi from Chapra, Siwan & Bhagwanpur. यह विष्णु मंदिर बिहार के सीवान जिले के अंतर्गत आता है। यह सीवान से 35 किलोमीटर पूरब, छपरा से 45 किलोमीटर उत्तर पश्चहिम, भगवानपुर से 9 किलोमेटीर पश्चिम, महाराजगंज से 10 किलोमीटर पूरब स्थित है। यहाँ पहुँचने के लिए इन सभी जगहों से बस या टेम्पो द्वारा आसानी से पहुंचा जा सकता है।[1]
