Whistling Bay

Whistling Bay (67°30′S 67°37′W / 67.500°S 67.617°W / -67.500; -67.617Coordinates: 67°30′S 67°37′W / 67.500°S 67.617°W / -67.500; -67.617) is an open bay, 4 nautical miles (7 km) wide and indenting 2.5 nautical miles (4.6 km), between Longridge Head and Cape Saenz along the west coast of Graham Land. First roughly surveyed in 1936 by the British Graham Land Expedition (BGLE) under Rymill. Resurveyed in 1948 by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS) and so named by them because of the curious and unidentified whistling sounds heard there at the time of the survey.
