Palawa is a census town in Katkamsandi (community development block) of Hazaribag district in the Indian state of Jharkhand.
Demographics
As per 2011 Census of India Palawa had a population of 14,848. There were 7,701 males and 7,147 females. Scheduled Castes numbered 361 and Scheduled Tribes numbered 32.[1]
As of 2001 India census,[2] Palawa had a population of 9,757. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Palawa has an average literacy rate of 60%, higher than the national average of 59.5%. Male literacy is 66%, and female literacy is 53%. In Palawa, 19% of the population is under 6 years of age.

As per 2011 census the total number of literates in Palawa was 9,503 out of which 5,242 were males and 4,261 were females.[1]
