It forms a city municipal corporation council electoral constituency and is a part of Behala Purba (Vidhan Sabha constituency).^[1]

The boundaries of the ward are: Bhupen Roy Road, Bamacharan Roy Road and Pasupati Bhattacharya Road are in the north. Mahatma Gandhi Road and Raja Rammohan Roy Road are in the east. Raja Rammohan Roy Road is in the south. Diamond Harbour Road is in the west.^[2]
