Permatang Pauh is a federal constituency in Penang, Malaysia, that has been represented in the Dewan Rakyat since 1974.
The federal constituency was created from parts of the Seberang Tengah constituency in the 1974 redistribution and is mandated to return a single member to the Dewan Rakyat under the first past the post voting system.
History
2004–2016: The constituency contains the polling districts of Jalan Sembilang, Seberang Jaya II, Kampong Pertama, Kampong Belah Dua, Seberang Jaya I, Jalan Bahru, Simpang Ampat, Jalan Tuna, Taman Tun Hussein Onn, Sama Gagah, Permatang Ara, Permatang Pauh, Bukit Indra Muda, Kampong Pelet, Kubang Semang, Tanah Liat Mukim 8, Kampong Cross Street 2, Permatang Tengah, Guar Perahu, Kuala Mengkuang, Telok Wang, Mengkuang, Sungai Lembu, Penanti, Kubang Ulu, Sungai Semambu, Tanah Liat Mukim 9, Berapit Road.
